Turns out I was on a date with the guy's roommate. He proceeds to tell me about this girl that completely dramatically destroyed his heart and soul. But he's a great guy and I try to give him some time and keep talking to him.
Then I friend him on Facebook, and there happens to be a pic of him and the ex-wife of my (current) boyfriend's brother, who is a generally gross and fairly unattractive person who barely showers. He starts crying and tells me she's the one he's been talking about. He was clearly desperate for a warm body, and anyone would do.
This poor dude was wheezing within 20 feet of walking. I felt bad for the guy, and I try to be open minded but I can't date someone that unhealthy.
We get to the restaurant (which was really good) and he tells me about himself and his life.
The only negative experience I got once was when I got catfished. That being said, I had no idea how many creeps there were out there and my overall view of men has taken a massive hit and unfortunately it has affected the level of respect I have for them as a whole.
It was really awkward sitting there, listening to someone complaining about the online dating scene and how a woman like me would never talk to him if he used his own photos. I try not to let it affect my behavior but I'm suspicious of all new men I come into contact with.
Let's call her "Ashley." One of those conversations that immediately took off and we were talking for at least 4 hours straight. We exchange goodbyes and that was the end of our evening.
Eventually he asked if I'd like to see his flat and I said yes.He told me about his roommate who was dating a crack head.
