I am using a Template Field to display my Edit, Update and Cancel 'buttons' in the first column of the Grid View within respective Item Template and Edit Item Template fields.Within the Item Template I have an Image Buttong with a Command Name of "Edit". It makes use of the On Item Updating routine configured in the Details View control. But I have also proved that the On Item Updated routine never fires, even with the success of the Updating routine. My conclusion is that this combination of handlers is somehow controlled by the nature of the data source. In my case, I am using only Data Table objects for sources.

-Frinny Hi all, I seem to be having the same issue but I don't quite follow the trouble with the above post. Can you explain the T/S a little more or maybe point me to another post that may have already covered it? Hi all, I seem to be having the same issue but I don't quite follow the trouble with the above post. Can you explain the T/S a little more or maybe point me to another post that may have already covered it? It's quite common that people create the data source and bind this source to the Grid View in their Page_Load() method. But I think I can´t avoid to do this, because if I don't, the runtime created controls fade away. Thanks to all you for answer, but the examples posted aren't my case.If you are using command buttons, then do not use Auto Generate Edit Button.

Hi All, In above written code only EDIT event is being fired & that is only once after that UPDATE, CANCEL no event is being fired. All I want to do is change the Grid Row Color on the basis of the value entered in QTY field.

protected void Page_Load(object sender, Event Args e) private void Grid View Data Bind() protected void Grid View1_Row Editing(object sender, Grid View Edit Event Args e) protected void Grid View1_Row Updating(object sender, Grid View Update Event Args e) If data volume is low then try to put the dataset value into viewstate just after binding. If data volume is low then try to put the dataset value into viewstate just after binding. If I set the Edit Index after the the Data Bind, when i click on the edit button i can't edit the values in the textboxs of the gridview. I can create a new Data Table, but when I need to read the new values in the Grid View, It returns 0 rows!
